Lip Product Collection April 2016 (Whoops)

It has been eight months since I last took inventory of my makeup collection. My last one was in October 2015. Since lip products are my weakness and actually difficult to use up, I thought I would do a post dedicated to them and then check back again in October to see how things have changed.
I aim to par down my current collection and make the most of the older products I have before treating myself to new purchases, possibly at the end of this year. I have my eye on a few Aritaum Colour Lasting Tints, Aritaum Mirror Gloss Tint, Peripera Peri's Ink, and the TonyMoly Get It Liptone. By then, new products would have come out and maybe I won't even want any of these items by then.

(I wrote 98% of this in April but didn't post this until July *sigh*)

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in PK001, PP501, and OR202 Review

My friend Cathy came back from her first trip to Korea in 2013. She got a cute bear key chain and two samples of the Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in Cherry Red. Cherries are one of my favourite fruits. I love how the look, I love their scent, and I love their flavour. I also love lip products. After trying out the samples, I wanted to get a full size of this tint! Since I already had a red lip tint (the TonyMoly Kiss Lover Live Tint), I decided to get the tint in Cherry Pink.

After using the Cherry Pink for a few months and having a good impression, I decided to pick up some other colours in the range. Unfortunately, the Cherry Lavender PP501 and the Cherry Coral OR202 are from the Spring 2014 5th Year Anniversary collection. I'm sorry I was not able to write a review for these items before they became discontinued.

The three I have are:

1. OR202 Cherry Coral (Spring 2014 Limited Edition)
2. PP501 Cherry Lavender (Spring 2014 Limited Edition)
3. PK001 Cherry Pink

Aritaum Honey Melting Tint in #7 Coral Candy Review

The Aritaum Honey Melting Tints were a trending product in 2014. I tried out some of the shades during my trip to Hong Kong, but it wasn't until my trip to Taiwan I saw these for a really good price at 86Shop that I took the plunge and purchased one. Boy, am I glad I did.

The Honey Melting Tint has honey in the formula to help moisturise your lips to give a natural but vivid tint.

Nature Republic By Flower Lip Balm EXO Suho Honey Lemon Review

I love love love lip products. And EXO. I had a hard time deciding whether or not to purchase this in my second last day of Hong Kong in February 2015. I was with my twinnie Gabriel who was visiting Hong Kong from Singapore during Chinese New Year. Most of the shops were closed but Nature Republic was opened and the EXO standees in front of the store kept on enticing me to come in and buy stuff so I went in and bought stuff:/

This By Flower Lip Balm is a clear lip balm that changes to a nature pink colour on contact with heat. It gives your lips a naturally pinkish red flush. Other than that, the main selling point is that there is a picture of an EXO member and their autograph when you open the lid! Etude House did something similar with SHINee's autograph a few years ago, but their lip balm was opaque which means you have to finish the entire product before you can reveal the autograph.

My favourite member is Baekhyun, but I also have extreme soft spots for D.O, Kai, Chen, and ex-member Luhan. I'm starting to have a bit of a soft spot for Sehun as well.

My makeup collection (featuring lots of Dolly Wink and Etude House)

My cousins who live in Hong Kong and my friend who has moved to Indonesia wanted to see my makeup collection. So here is my current collection that I photographed last night (no... I'm not procrastinating >_>). I will name my favourite from each category:

RoseRoseShop Haul and Review #2

Wow, so many haul posts and so little review and drawing posts. It looks like all I ever do is spend, spend, spend (but it's not, I promise)! I like reading haul posts the most so it makes sense that I enjoy writing them because they make me reflect on the things I have. I feel a sense of contentment when I actually use up everything I purchased.

My Mizon 8% AHA Peeling Serum ran out right before I went overseas in January. I really enjoyed using it, and I'm glad RoseRoseShop still had their free shipping for Mizon promotion going on!

The customer service at RRS is so nice. This is only the second time I've purchased from them, but they responded to messages very quickly and professionally. I do know that customer service can be very hit or miss, but I was satisfied with the customer service I received this time.

Ordered: 16/3/15
Shipped: 18/3/15
Received: 8/4/15
TOTAL = 15 business days

Here is what I ordered:

Peripera Peri's Tint Water #5 Candy Juice

I love lip tints! They come in so many colours and textures, and you can create the super trendy and extremely pretty Korean ulzzang gradient lip look with them.

This is my first product from Peripera. What do I think of it? Read on to find out!

I picked up this colour in my February 2014 Testerkorea haul (you can read more about it here). I think this colour was previously released as a Gmarket exclusive and I couldn't find it on ebay, BeautyNetKorea, or Rose Rose Shop during early 2013. It was constantly sold out on ebay. I also only saw two blog swatches of it, but it looked amazing so I knew I had to have it!

Tony Moly Kiss Lover Live Tint #2 Orange review

I went to the China Town Tony Moly inside Morning Glory and got this at a sample for sale at $3. I know some people may think that's gross but I got it because it was pretty much full. Some reasons why this may have been because:
1.) I don't think this line of tints is very popular
2.) Most people go for the pink or even red rather than the oranges

After looking through all the samples (BB creams, eyeliners, sleeping packs, powders etc.), I judged this to be in the best condition. It looked hardly used and it worked well with my skin tone when I tried it so I purchased it!
Welcome to my family of tints
... the colours are too vibrant in this but it's Kiss Lover Live Tint #3 Red,  Kiss Lover Live Tint #2 Orange, and Cat Chu Wink (Tony Tint) #1 Cherry Pink
Swatches: #3 Red, #2 Orange, #1 Cherry Pink
I like this line of tints because it's more gel-like than the watery tints which dry really quickly. You get some time to work with this formula. Even after dabbing it in the inner parts of your lips, you still have time to wipe the colour from your fingers to a piece of tissue so it doesn't stain your fingers.

I think this colour is really pretty! I like it a lot~ I used to use orange lip glosses and I think I will start up again soon. The scent isn't anything too spectacular; it doesn't really smell much of oranges. Just an artificial sweet scent and a tad bitter if you lick it.

Cost: $3.00 (original price $13.99)
Consistency: Watery
Pigmentation: 4/ 5
Moisturising: 3/5
Colour: 4/5
Scent: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
TL;DR: Another pretty tint from Tony Moly. I couldn't justify forking out the full $14 for this colour on the spot, but I like it enough to go home and think about it.

I reviewed Kiss Lover Live Tint #3 Red here:)

Tony Moly Cat Chu Wink #1 Cherry Pink review

So... I went to the Tony Moly at Market City a few weeks ago and saw they finally sold Tony Tint (or Cat Chu Wink) in #1 Cherry Pink. ARRRGHHHHH. But they also sold the tiny samples for $3 so I purchased it. The full size is around $12.

Seriously, the tiny sample is worth $6??

All-in-all, I do like this tint. I love the colour more than the Tony Moly Kiss Lover Live Tint on my lips but I wouldn't necessarily reach for it more.

Pros:
- smells amazing (like sweet, candy cherry)
- small size = convenient and can be used up (probably)
- pretty colour
- long lasting power

Cons:
- have to work with the colour quickly
- pushing the wand in the bottle squeezes out the excess tint to go on the side of the cap:(
- drying. You need to wear balm with it
- emphases flaky lips
Cost: $2.99 (free-- isn't this supposed to be a sample?? Or just a sample-sized item??  =__=;;)
Consistency: extremely watery
Pigmentation: 5/ 5
Moisturising: 3/5
Colour: 5/5
Scent: 5/5
Taste: 3/5
Rating: 4.5/5
TL;DR: The sample size is worth trying... even if you do have to pay three bucks for it. I don't think I would have regretted buying the full version if I came across it when I really wanted it but I have too many tints.. for now^^

TonyMoly Kiss Lover Live Tint review

A month and a half ago, I noticed TonyMoly cosmetics were sold at the Morning Glory in China Town (very late at noticing, I know =__=). A week later, I walked past the new TonyMoly store in Market City and freaked out. They had 40% off everything which is freaking awesome!

I really wanted to buy one of their famous Tony Tints so I was really happy to see that they were on sale for only $6.99. I had my heart set on buying it in #1 Cherry Pink or #2 Red Apple. Unfortunately, the store only sold the new re-packaged Cat Wink's tint in #3 Orange Cha Cha. I asked the sales assistant if they carried the reds and she tried to get me to buy the orange. I tried to love it when I tested it-- I really did. As much as I think orange is a flattering colour on my skin tone, that particular tint didn't do it for me.

So she directed me to the tinted balms, the Water Jelly Tints and the Kiss Lover Live Tint. I tried every colour on my hand and I asked the sales assistant if they had anything 'darker'. I actually meant tints that were more 'pigmented' but she didn't really understand what I meant.

In the end, I was tossing up between the Pomegranate Water Jelly Tint and the Kiss Lover Live Tint in Red. I asked the sales assistant a lot of questions, and she said the red looked nicer on me and she advised me to choose according to texture. I liked both of them, but I decided to pick up the Kiss Lover Live Tint.

TonyMoly Kiss Lover Live Tint #3 Red

Doe foot applicator!
Cost: $8.99 (original price $13.99)
Consistency: Watery
Pigmentation: 3.5/ 5
Moisturising: 3/5
Colour: 4/5
Scent: 5/5
Taste: 4.5/5

All in all, I do like this tint. It smells like cherries (or cough medicine) but I like that type of scent! Also, if you accidentally lick your lips, it has a slightly sweet taste unlike the other Tony Tint which is very, very, bitter.

The tint itself can be a little drying on your lips and flake off quite quickly. It also has a tendency to bleed into the lines on your lips. For some reason, the colour sticks well on my bottom lip, but not so well on my top lip.

The lasting power is average. It can stay on for about an hour or two without eating or drinking. It is best to put on some balm (like Lucas' Papaw), apply the tint, lip concealer, and then gloss for the gradient lips look. Or you can just dot the tint on your lips for the 'I-just-sucked-a-popsicle' look.

I'd still like to pick up the full size of the Etude House Fresh Cherry tint in red, but I guess I don't need so many tints in the same colour at once!

TL;DR
A good tint to add to the collection.

I reviewed Kiss Lover Live Tint #2 Orange here:)
